Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

Listening to: The BossHoss - Shake & Shout

Interesting movement All Yesterdays has started in paleo circles. Nice new approaches, odd behaviour and fresh thinking in the apperance of now extinct animals. Just, remember not to over do it. Haven't yet got my hands on the book, but I'm definately going to purchase it sooner later.

No limits for entries per artist in the official contest, as far as I know. Don't know about the one held at "Love in the time of Chasmosaurs" blog. Can't wait to see your entry, if you decide to make an artwork for one of the contests. Your tree-mimic Tarbosaurus would have made a hell of a submission.

Just, remember not to over do it.

That's the hardest part. Sometimes one can get things out of hand with speculative concepts.
